What is Orthomolecular Therapy?

An orthomolecular therapist is a coach, listener, advisor and looks at people as people and not as a sick person. Where do the complaints come from, how come it has come this far. An orthomolecular therapist will look for the cause! I will look at where certain biochemical processes of the client get stuck. Certain processes can be straightened out through appropriate nutrition, herbs, vitamins, minerals, amino acids, probiotics, fatty acids and lifestyle advice. The body wants to heal itself, but needs help.

Every person is different, we are not all born with the same DNA, we do not all live in the same environment. Each client receives a personal consultation and advice with which he or she can get started.

Think positive

A healthy life starts with a healthy head. Complaints become much less with someone with a positive attitude. Healing goes much faster when someone is positive.

Supplement to classical medicine

Orthomolecular nutrition and lifestyle advice has a preventive effect, stimulates the self-healing capacity and is a nice addition to classical medicine.

First nutrition and exercise

Hippocrates already knew "make your food your medicine". Nature gives us what we need. Our ancestors lived on plants, berries, herbs. Plants and herbs produce substances to protect themselves against parasites, bacteria, insects, animals and also people. It is these substances in the plants that have a therapeutic effect.

As an orthomolecular therapist, I first look at your diet. What can we change to achieve optimal absorption of the right nutrients, vitamins and minerals? I also advise you to exercise for at least half an hour every day, walking, jogging lightly, swimming. By moving you will create extra energy, you will grow muscles and more oxygen will enter your body.

Biorhythm and structure

Your sleep pattern also tells a lot about your current state of health. Our hormones ensure that we sleep at night and have to replenish our reserves. During our sleep, all processes in our body are reset. If you have trouble sleeping, keep a diary for at least 3 weeks and see how your sleep-wake pattern is. Can you relax enough? What do you do or eat the last hours before you go to sleep. Get to know your body and restore your biorhythm. Our body needs that recovery to function normally. Structure is important here.

Supplementation with nutritional supplements

The food we buy now no longer contains the right amounts of vitamins, minerals and trace elements. Supplementing with nutritional supplements is therefore very important! In addition, we come into contact with toxic substances every day, which causes the body to become unbalanced. There may also be processes in your body that are not functioning properly. Nutritional supplements are useful here. Measuring is knowing! That is why I always start the process with a blood test. (EMB)

An orthomolecular therapist examines where the client's biochemistry gets stuck. Looking together for solutions to support the biochemical processes as well as possible and to get them going again. This can be done with supplementation in the form of vitamins, minerals, probiotics, herbs, amino acids, fatty acids, but also with lifestyle interventions, such as nutrition, exercise, relaxation, biorhythm and behavior.

The action of the orthomolecular therapist is tailored to the unique situation of the client. The primary goal is to prevent, reduce or eliminate the chronic complaints/disorders. Think about:

  • High cholesterol
  • High bloodpressure
  • Heart and vascular disease
  • Metabolic syndrome
  • Overweight/underweight
  • Diabetes type I/II
  • Constipation
  • Irritable bowel syndrome
  • Food intolerances
